18.
The salary will be paid in the dollar currency of
Hong Kong For purposes of local payment the sala y
will be converted into dollars at the rates from time
to time approved by the Government for the permanent
and pensionable staff.
Leave shall be earned at the rate of
leave for sach twelve months of active service and
leave earned shall be taken at such times and for subh
periods as the Engineers shall determine but any
balance of leave earned and not taken shall be given
on termination of the appointment unless such
termination takes place under the provision for summary dismissal provided for in Clause 14 in which
case all leave earned shall be cancelled
Government shall provide the Resident Engineer with
a First Class passage to England and if returning to
the Government's service with a like return passage
and will continue to pay his salary during such
periods of leave.

The Crown Agents shall not in any wise be personally
liable for any matters arising out of this Agreement.
